2012 QAIHC SQ Ella 7's Brisbane












The 2012 South Queensland Ella 7's Nominations are open!




• General information


The tournament will takes place on Friday and Saturday November 2-3th at Ballymore Stadium (91 Clyde Road, Herston QLD 4006).

The tournament is limited to 16 men and 8 women's teams.

All players must be over the age of 18. Players turning 18 in 2012 can apply for dispensation. These need to be lodged before you arrive at Barlow Park.

Each team will pay an entrance fee of either $1,100 (includes a team kit: 1 training ball and a recovery pack including Salad & Meat Roll, piece of fruit, Gatorade drink and chocolate).

Regarding Insurance - All players must complete an ARU registration form (you can find it on Ella 7’s Facebook page).

Those who wish to enter 2 teams are welcome with the understanding that the 2nd team will be in the same half of the draw as the No1 team.



• Principal rules




Each team will consist of 12 players and 2 management staff with a maximum of 2 Non-Aboriginal players.

This means a maximum of five replacements per game (Once replaced, that player cannot return to the field of play. Exceptions made for a blood bin situation).

You will have a minimum of 3 games of Rugby 7's.

Event will be run on Cup, Plate & if enough teams Bowl.

All pool, quarter and semi-final, games will be 7 minutes each way

The finals in each Cup, Plate & Bowl that will be for 10 minutes each way with a 2-minute break at half time.



• Reward


The men's competition Cup winner will receive $5,000 (based on a minimum of 16 teams).

In the Women's draw the Cup winner will receive $3,000 (based on a minimum of 8 teams).

There will also be monetary prizes for the runners up and the minor Plate competition Plate.



• Sponsorship


Teams can organize their own sponsorship and have these on the jumpers. You can either design your own jumpers or choose one from our supplier. You can change colors if you wish.

Teams that pay after Monday 15 October 2012 will be unable to choose their jumper design, sizing and or have their sponsor’s logos on jerseys. They will be provided a generic set by LMRDT Inc.

The event remains the ownership of the LMRDT Inc.

The tournament is limited to 16 men and 8 women's teams.

2012 Bigger than ever

In 2011 the event had 32 Mens Teams and 12 Womens Teams will see the event run over 2 days. The Women will kick off on Friday, playing 6.30-8.30pm and continue with their Finals on Saturday. The Men will play all their games over the Saturday. Draw to be released soon. Several teams wanted to get into the event in the last month and were disappointed to missout.

It is important all teams get their money and forms in on time. Please contact Tom Evans if there are any problems.

All players will need to submit an ARU registration form (unless they have already registered with a club 2011).

Entry to the event is $5 - FOR EVERYONE! Players, Spectators, Officials.
